TheAlzCenterorg at Qunicy Medical Center is pleased to be first among the 20 sites in US to start screening for the multinational clinical trial DRI1074 for Alzheimer's disease since Feb 4 2011.Phase III Clinical Trial of Latrepredine (Dimebon) Completes Enrollment and gears up for extension phase.
The multinational study enrolled 1003 subjects with MMSE 12 to 19, stable on 10 mg Aricept for 4 months, not yet on namenda or other cholinesterase inhibitors. Please call 617-302-6388 or click here for more information

Congratulations on publishing the paper entitled, comparative Analysis of State Driving Laws on Elderly Crash Rate in all 50 US States.
The paper was authored by Roshni Patel, Deborah Nadler, Nicole Chan, Apar Gupta BS, Sheela Chandrashekar MA, Jasmeet Singh MD and Anil K. Nair MD from thealzcenter.org. Journal of the American Geriatrics Society with an Impact Factor of 3.913.

Multiple abstracts accepted at the 2011 AAN meeting!
Congratulations to Anil, Jasmeet, Sheela, Apar and Karthik from the QMC Alzheimer's Center for having their abstract "A Meta-analysis of Multi-center Randomized Controlled Trials for the Treatment of Memory Loss (MCI/AD) Utilizing Quality Standards Specified by the "CONsolidated Standards Of Reporting Trials", accepted for presentation at the 63rd Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Neurology, Hawaii, April 9-16, 2011.
Another abstract titled "Using The CONSORT 2010 Criteria to Analyze Quality of Data Reported in Randomized Controlled Trials of Pharmacotherapy of Dementia and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)", was also accepted for presentation.
A third abstract "Vasogenic Edema of Grey Matter (VEG): A Case Series and Review of Literature", was also accepted for presentation once again. (It was previously presented at the 2010 ICAD meeting.)

On behalf of the entire CONCERT Study team and QMC Alzheimer's Center, we are very pleased to announce that we have completed enrollment of the CONCERT Study, with a total of 1003 patients randomized. With the unrelenting efforts of each and every member of our international study team, we have achieved a sample size that will support the study objectives to confirm the effectiveness of dimebon in AD. See additional details of patient enrollment on a per-country basis in an upcoming newsletter. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for all efforts on the study thus far and thank all the referring physicians. While there is still much more work to be done before the study is completed, we share the achievement of this important milestone as what we hope is an early indicator of a successful outcome. Congratulations to the entire International CONCERT Study team.
